At published 2026 list prices, software to run a BJJ or martial arts gym costs between $0 and $240 a month for a school of 40 to 180 active members, and the programs built for martial arts mostly fall between $69 and $199. That is the software. The bigger bill is often the card fee on your tuition: at 80 students it can cost more each month than the software itself, and it is the number vendors put in the smallest print.
What each program costs at your school's size
Monthly list price for one location, read on each vendor's pricing page. "Active members" roughly means paying students, but each vendor counts them its own way: see the questions to ask on the demo, at the end.
| Program | 40 members | 80 members | 120 members | 180 members |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gymdesk | $100 | $125 | $175 | $240 |
| Kicksite | $99 | $149 | $199 | $199 |
| Martialytics | $69 | $99 | $129 | $129 |
| MyStudio | $79 | $79 | $79 | $79 |
| Zen Planner | from $99 | from $99 | from $99 | from $99 |
| Spark Membership | $199 | $199 | $199 | $199 |
| GymMaster | $89 | $89 | $129 | $129 |
| PushPress | $0 | $0 | $0 | $0 |
| Mindbody | from $79 | from $79 | from $79 | from $79 |
Gymdesk prices are without Gymdesk Payments; with it, each tier is $25–40 cheaper. "From" means the vendor publishes a starting price and quotes the rest. PushPress at $0 is its free plan, which charges a higher card rate (see the next section).
What moves the price
- Gymdesk: $25–40 less per month if you process payments with Gymdesk Payments (US and Canada). Website included, no setup fee, month to month. Extra location $50–100/mo; branded app $100/mo.
- Kicksite: All features at every tier. Annual pricing is discounted, but only quoted on a demo call.
- Martialytics: Every feature and unlimited locations on every tier. Payments run on Stripe at Stripe's standard rates; leads and inactive students are not counted.
- MyStudio: Unlimited students on every plan. $79 is Essentials; rank-testing readiness is in Growth ($159), custom branding in Scale ($239). Card processing 2.9% + $0.30, ACH 1%.
- Zen Planner: $99 is the starting price of Studio; the real price scales with active members and is quoted on a demo. Website plan from $198, marketing CRM plan from $348, branded app $39/mo, card readers $39/mo.
- Spark Membership: One flat price after an 8-week free trial, with free data migration.
- GymMaster: Per site, before tax; 10% off if you pay yearly. With 24/7 door access the tiers are $129, $169 and $249.
- PushPress: The free plan charges 4.99% + $0.30 per card payment. Pro is $159/mo at 2.89% + $0.30; Max is $229/mo at 2.75% + $0.30.
- Mindbody: From $79 per location (North America). Higher plans are quoted by sales. A 20% fee, capped at $30, applies to a new client's first purchase when the Mindbody app sent them.
The card fee can cost more than the software
Take a school with 80 students paying $150 a month by card: $12,000 collected. This is an example to show the arithmetic, not an average tuition. Here is what software plus processing comes to each month on the plans that publish their card rate:
| Plan | Card rate | Software | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| PushPress Free | 4.99% + $0.30 | $0 | $623 |
| PushPress Pro | 2.89% + $0.30 | $159 | $530 |
| PushPress Max | 2.75% + $0.30 | $229 | $583 |
| Martialytics + Stripe | 2.9% + $0.30 | $99 | $471 |
| MyStudio Essentials | 2.9% + $0.30 | $79 | $451 |
The "free" plan is the most expensive one in that table. PushPress Pro beats its free plan once you collect more than $7,571 a month by card: below that, free is cheaper; above it, the $159 pays for itself in lower fees.
The cheapest change is not the software, it is how your members pay. By bank debit (ACH), Stripe charges 0.8% capped at $5 per payment, so the same 80 payments cost $96 instead of $372 — $276 a month saved, more than any plan in the first table costs. MyStudio charges 1% for ACH ($120 on the same example). Ask every vendor on the demo whether they support ACH and what they charge for it.
Gymdesk, Kicksite, Spark, GymMaster and Zen Planner do not publish their own card rates on their pricing pages. Zen Planner works with preferred processors, including its in-house Daxko Payments, and Gymdesk lowers its software price if you use Gymdesk Payments. Get the rate in writing before you compare.
Built for martial arts or built for gyms
The first six programs in the table sell themselves to martial arts schools: rank and belt tracking, family accounts and attendance toward promotion. Kicksite lists belt rank tracking and mass check-in by rank; MyStudio puts "who's ready to test" in its $159 Growth plan, not in Essentials; Gymdesk says it tracks belt progression at the technique level. GymMaster, PushPress and Mindbody are general gym and studio software. They run billing and scheduling well, but if you promote students by attendance and time in grade, check how they handle it before you sign.
Which one fits, by situation
- Under 25 students, just opening: Kicksite at $49 is the lowest fixed price with belt tracking. PushPress Free costs nothing up front, but every payment carries 4.99%.
- 50 to 100 students: MyStudio Essentials is the lowest at $79, but its rank-testing tools are in the $159 plan. Martialytics at $99 and Gymdesk at $100–125 include every feature, and Gymdesk adds a website. Kicksite is $149 at that size.
- Growing past 150: MyStudio does not charge by student count, so $79 stays $79; Martialytics stays at $129 up to 200. Gymdesk and Kicksite are $240 and $199 at 180 members.
- More than one location: Martialytics includes unlimited locations; Gymdesk adds $50–100 per location; GymMaster and Mindbody price per site.
- You also need a website: Gymdesk and MyStudio include one in every plan. At Zen Planner the website plan starts at $198.
Questions to ask on the demo
- Who counts as an active member? Gymdesk excludes visitors, frozen and cancelled members; Zen Planner counts anyone with a membership or who attended an event in the past month.
- What is the card rate, the ACH rate and any per-transaction fee, in writing?
- Is there a setup fee, a contract or a minimum term? Gymdesk publishes no setup fee and no contract, Zen Planner is month to month, and Mindbody charges no onboarding fee; ask the others.
- Can I export members, attendance and billing history myself, and is there a fee to leave?
- What will the price be at renewal, and is the current price locked?
What we could not confirm
Zen Planner and Mindbody quote anything above their starting price, and Gymdesk does not publish the rate of Gymdesk Payments. Wodify's pricing page refused our request, so it is not in the table. Prices change: each name in the first table links to the page we read, and the date at the top is the day we read it.
